Acne or pimples range from blackheads and whiteheads to small-large red raised bumps which can be sometimes pus filled based on severity.

How can we prevent getting acne?

You cannot completely stop acne, especially when your hormones change, but you can lower the chance of getting acne by doing these things:

Maintain skin care routine

- Wash your face twice daily

Sun safety

- Protect your skin from excessive sun exposure

Hands off your face

- Avoid touching your face with your hands, as this can transfer oil and dirt, leading to breakouts

Choose non-comedogenic products

- Choose oil-free products, as these are less likely to clog pores

- Consume a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, dry fruits, whole grains, and lean proteins. Avoid dairy and high glycemic index foods like sugar, jaggery, and honey.

If you wear makeup, do your skincare first and then apply makeup. Wash your makeup brushes regularly and take off makeup every night by double cleansing your skin.
